OBITUARY:
SALEM PIONEER IS DEAD; Charles Van Wagner Passes Away at Daughter's Home
Charles Van Wagner, a resident of Salem for the past forty years, died suddenly yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clyde E. Johnson 732 Chemeketa street, at the age of 73 years. His death was pronounced due to heart failure. Besides Mrs. Johnson, Mr. Wagner is survived by another daughter in Salem, Mrs. John Darr, having made his home with the latter daughter until recently. He also leaves a granddaughter, little Pauline Johnson, and four sisters, who live in New York. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the chapel of Rigdon & Richardson. The deceased was a member of the local A. O. U. W. and Degree of Honor.
