Lane Noll Koch, born Jan. 24, 1932, in Canon City, Colo., passed away Nov. 15, 2004.

Preceded in death by his parents, Henry E. and Blanch Koch.

Survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Julie A. Falletta of Pueblo, Jeanne (Lyle) Morrison of Thornton, Colo., Kristen E. Koch of Pueblo; son, Daniel Lane (Mary) Koch of Fallon, Nev.; six grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Lane; and sister, Eunice Evans of Denver.

Lane retired as an engineer/public information supervisor from Southern Colorado Power Co. (West Plains Energy) after 33 years of service. He was the first recipient of the prestigious Centel Electric President's Award.

Lane has been a board member or officer in nearly all groups in which he has been affiliated including the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, Pueblo Diversified Industries, Engineers Society, Home Builders Association, Colorado Press Club, Optimists Club, Toastmasters, and Chairman of the United Way. Lane served as president of the Pueblo Charter Lions Club, Colorado Power Council, Pueblo Jaycees, and the Southern Colorado Kennel Club. He was a board member founding the Greater Pueblo Sports Association (GPSA).

Lane was a veteran of the Korean War.

He was a graduate of Denver University and a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. A graduate of Pueblo Central High School, Lane was the Wildcats football team captain in Pueblo's first "Bell Game."

Lane long will be remembered as a kind gentleman who would do for others before doing for himself.

Memorial service, 11 a.m. Wednesday, Imperial Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Sangre de Cristo Hospice, or the Alzheimer's Association in his memory through the funeral home office. A special thanks to the caring staff at Fuente de Vida and Dr. Janise Denton.
