Alice Joan Ray Ohse, 69, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, March 6, 2006, at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.
She was born Feb. 4, 1937, in Sand Springs, Okla. She was a 1955 graduate of Loudoun Valley High School.
Prior to her marriage, she worked at Farmers & Merchants Bank, Freeman & Washington Insurance and Hilldrup Transfer at Quantico. She was a member of Ferry Farm Baptist Church, where she had been active in vacation Bible school, the nursery, Celebration Choir, Golden Jubilee and SAMS. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed reading and playing bingo.
Survivors include a son, Andrew Ohse and his wife, Martha, and their children, Kerry, Bobby and Erann, all of Spotsylvania County; a daughter, Christine Ohse of Charlottesville and her fiancé, Tyrone Jenkins, and their daughter, TaMarah; a sister, Marian Price of Cherry Hill, N.J.; a brother, Edward Ray Jr. of Ranson, W.Va.; and numerous other family members in California, Ohio, Illinois, Florida and Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Ohse; her parents, Ed and Rose Ray; and a brother, William Ray.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at Ferry Farm Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paige Young officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Montrief, John Rerucha, Wayne Hall, Quentin Smith, Jimmy Harper, Greg Jacob and Jason Rose.
Memorial donations may be made to Ferry Farm Baptist Church, 1 Westmoreland Drive, Fredericksburg, Va. 22405.
