Mary "Helen" Hughes, 90, of Muncie, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Morrison Woods Health Campus.
Helen was born on May 23, 1932, in Muncie. She was a 1950 graduate of Muncie Central High School. Helen worked as lead hostess and supervisor at Westinghouse for Servomation. She was a current member of Glad Tidings Church and past member of the South Side Church of the Nazarene where she still had many friends. She was also a member of Farm Bureau and a local Home Ec. Club. Helen enjoyed swimming, mall walking, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her husband of 12 years, Darrell Hughes; three children, Terry Grim (wife Rea) of Muncie, Kathy Gant of Yorktown, and Elaine Casados (husband Randy) of Dripping Springs, TX; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her father, Harry McKinley; mother, Amy Moore; husband, Robert Huffer; and two sisters, Juanita Malotte and Ruth Strong.
A funeral service to celebrate Helen's life will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, July 1, 2022, at Glad Tidings Church, 3001 S. Burlington Dr., Muncie, IN 47302. Pastor Kevin Holt will officiate. Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery.
