On May 6, 2022, Sylvia A. Allen, 77, left us to be with our lord. Sylvia was born on May 14, 1944 in Calexico to Julio and Alicia Espinosa De Los Monteros. In 1967, Sylvia married the love of her life, Joseph D. Allen Sr. She worked for the ICOE Migrant Program for 30 years. She retired in 2003.
Sylvia was a member of the Ave Maria Rosary Maker Prayer Group. Making rosaries was one of her favorite hobbies.
She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Julio and Alicia; sisters, Armida Tamayo and Alma Bristow; brother, Julio; husband, Joseph; and son, Sean Allen.
Sylvia is survived by her sister, Toni Blackman; son, Joseph; daughter, Jennifer Morales; son-in-law, Jerry Morales; 5 grandchildren, one great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Vigil services will be on June 23, 2022 at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro from 6-9pm. Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be on June 24, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico at 10am. Burial services will follow at Mt View Cemetery.
