Eliza was the daughter of Joseph who was a farmer born in 1818 in Germany, and Civil War Veteran Enlisted as a Private on 22 November 1862 at the age of 33 in Company A, 54th Infantry Regiment Georgia. During the 1800's, he, his wife Emily (Amelia Reben--born in NC) and his ten children owned a 600 acre produce farm in what is now southwest Bibb County. He and his two sons Joseph, Jr., and Noah were originally buried on the plantation farm, but it was sold in 2007 to developers, and sadly they were subsequently exhumed and buried at nearby New Elm Baptist Church where the rest of their family was buried. Her siblings were Joseph Jr. (b. 1850); Charles (b. 1847); Daniel (b. 1852); Margaret E. (b. 1853); Noah W. (b.1855); Emily J. (b. 1856); Thomas A. (b. 1860); Ezekial (b. 1860); Martha A. (b. 1865). Eliza married Seaborn Thomas on Oct. 31, 1867. (b.1843 d.1905) Their children were Mary T. THOMAS (b.1869); Emanuel Walter THOMAS (b.1871 d. 1942); Emily L. THOMAS (b.1872); Joseph Henry THOMAS (b.1874 d.1939); Jethro Paul THOMAS (b.1876 d.1935); Annie N. THOMAS (b.1879); Ezekial G. THOMAS (b.1883); and Allia L. THOMAS (b.1888).
