J. Wallace Sutton, son of Luther S. and Ollie Barton Sutton, was born February 18, 1916, in Alton, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, March 18, 2003, in Breech Regional Medical Center, Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, and one month.
On August 19, 1977, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Sue Gibbs, and together they shared twenty-five years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Wallace Eugene; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph and Clayton Sutton; and four sisters, Elva Johnson, Ruth Barker, Minnie Glidewell, and Betty Sutton.
Wallace is survived by his wife, Sue, of the home; two daughters, Peggy Beery, and her husband, Paul, and Donna Moore, and her husband, Leyman, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, James Sutton, and his wife, Charlene, of Lebanon, Missouri; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Chronister, and her husband, Gene, of West Plains, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Alton, Missouri. In the mid-1950's he moved to Lebanon, Missouri and was employed by the Esther Packing Company for several years. He later worked for the Lebanon Police department for two years before being employed by the Mid-America Dairy where he worked for twenty years before retiring.
He centered his life around his farm and especially liked raising horses and mules.
In his spare time, he enjoyed playing his fiddle, fishing, hunting, spending time with his friends and playing cards. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wallace was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Services will be held March 21, 2003 at 1:00p.m. in the Holman-Howe Chapel. Burial will follow in the Dotson Cemetery. Visitation will be held March 20, 2003 from 7-8:30p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon, Missouri.
