Marvin was born on January 13, 1944 in Maysville, WV and was the son of the late Hershel Benjamin Berg and Myrtle Ann (Alt) Berg. In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by one brother, Benjamin Franklin "Benny" Berg.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy Ann (Alt) Berg; two sons, David E. Berg and wife, Carla of Petersburg, WV and Jamie S. Berg of Maysville, WV; two daughters, Elizabeth A. "Beth" Evans and husband Larry of Cabins, WV and Laurie A. Berg of Elizabethtown, KY seven grandchildren, Kristopher Brown, Megan Lindley, Matthew Evans, Julie Crites, Britany Berg, Cody Berg and Sarah Beth Berg; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ann Ratcliff and husband Sam of Maysville, WV; several nieces and nephews.
Marvin started out logging with his dad and transitioned to being owner/ operator of Marvin E. Berg Trucking for 53 years before retiring. Marvin enjoyed helping on his family farm. He had strong family ties with all of his family.
Marvin was a member of the Jordan Run Union Church and served as Superintendent of the Sunday School. In Sunday School he loved to talk about the Lord and testify.
Interment will be in Maysville Cemetery.
