Donna worked for 29 years with the Upjohn Company on the production line. She was a member of the Kalamazoo Missionary Church for many years and was a strong believer in Christ. She enjoyed dancing, playing cribbage, and playing cards with friends. She was an avid collector of wooden spoons, salt and pepper shakers, handkerchiefs, Precious Moments figurines, and was a member of the Charlie's Angels Club in Battle Creek, MI. Another favorite hobby was writing letters and cards to family and friends, having had up to 44 pen pals at one time.
Donna was a very loving mother and enjoyed being a part of her children's activities and school organizations. She served as the President of the Mothers Study, PTA, Band Boosters, and also was active in the Parchment Little League.
She and Stan enjoyed 12 years as season ticket holders for the Kalamazoo Wings Hockey Team. Some of her favorite times they had together were simple things, like going to the movies. They also enjoyed being with their grandchildren and attended many of their school activities, band performances, dance recitals and soccer games.
She is survived by her children, Debra (Roger) Stephenson and Steven (Teresa) Pierce. Her sister, Ruth Pancost; brother, Ken (Elsie) Baughman; brother and sister in-law, Don and Ellen Pierce. Grandchildren, Amanda (Stan) Spalla, Emily (Ethan) Wegeler, Khristina (Sam) Crawford, and Rebecca Pierce. Great grandchildren, Stanley Spalla lll, Kaitlyn Miller, Eli Spalla, Leo Crawford, and Charlotte Spalla. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stan of 56 years; their infant daughter, Stacey; her parents, grandparents, and sister, Phyllis Simmons.
Donna will be laid to rest on Thursday, May 19th, 2022 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI, in a private committal service. It will be followed by a memorial celebration of her life from 4:30 to 7:30 PM at the Scotts Community Center, 8450 36th Street, Scotts MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Great Lakes Autism Center or the Battle Creek VA Medical Center.
