Arlyce Catherine Ausdemore, 77, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, in Petoskey, MI. She was born August 6, 1944, in Yankton, SD to Joseph and Lillian (Gobel) Schumacher.
Arlyce was most proud of her son Brian. She graduated from Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD in 1966. Arlyce married her high school sweetheart, Donald Ausdemore, and moved to Sault Ste. Marie, MI in 1966. She taught in the Sault Area Public Schools until she retired. Arlyce enjoyed volunteering as her way to give back to the community. A few of the places she will be missed are War Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, driving the Road to Recovery Van, and many more. She also loved to bake, paint, sew, and do handwork.
Arlyce is survived by her husband, Don Ausdemore of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; son, Brian Ausdemore; sisters, Carol (Andrew) Lyon of Washington and Cathy (Frank) Davenport of Nevada; brothers-in-law, Will (Virjean) Ausdemore of Florida and Dave (Darlene) Ausdemore of South Dakota; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Henning of Nebraska and Lois Ann (Burl) Morman of Nebraska, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Joyce, sister-in-law Marlyn, and brother-in-law Rodney. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 9:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1101 Minneapolis St. Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783, with Father Michael Chenier officiating. The final resting place will be Crofton, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are made to, Hospice of the EUP, 308 W. 12th Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783, in Arlyce's name.
