Donald Gene "Gus" Prichard, 89, passed away at North Kansas City Hospital on June 22, 2022. Gus, as he was known to family and friends, was born on January 24, 1933, to C.L. and Lottie (Stratton) Prichard in Georgeville, Missouri. Gus graduated from Polo High School in 1950 and went to Kansas City to work for Sparks Town Topic on Broadway, then for Town Topic on 6th Street. His boss there was a lady named Peggy, who had a daughter named Pat, who became his wife of 65 years. They had a son, Paul, and an infant daughter, Nancy, who died shortly after birth. Gus was drafted shortly after going to work for Ford and became a member of the 11th Airborne at Fort Campbell, KY. After his discharge, he went back to Ford and retired in 1983. Gus and Pat moved to Georgeville to farm and stayed there until their move to Richmond in 2010. Gus liked the sprint cars and went to many races all over the country. He always had something to work on and the last two years took a toll on him. He was a good man and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Visitation with graveside services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022, with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with graveside services to follow at 3:00 P.M. in the Cowgill Cemetery.
