Penny was born on November 17, 1944 to Fay Irene Hinnen and Vawn Ephraim Pixton. She attended Murray High School before marrying John Oliver Jones in 1962. The couple had one son together. They later divorced and she went on to marry Murray Stevens in 1984 on their shared birthday, November 17.
Penny had a long career in Utah real estate and was something of an expert in the industry after she retired with nearly 40 years of experience. She was able to pass that experience on to her granddaughter Nichole who she had such a close relationship with. Penny had a passion for the horse races. She absolutely loved watching, attending and of course placing her bets. More than anything in the world though; Penny loved being with her family. Soaking in every minute with her grandkids and her great-grandkids was always number one for her. She and Murray would travel back and forth between their home in St. George to Midvale and of course up to Samak to make sure they were always able to be with family and friends.
Penny is survived by her husband, Murray Stevens; her son, John Jeff Jones; her three stepchildren; Merlina (Cody) Lopan, Brent (Angelique) Stevens and Marty (Necia) Stevens, and her brother, Randy (Shawnia) Pixton. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. Her daughter-in-law Danielle Jones and her brother Dee V. Pixton preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home (4760 S. State St. Murray, UT 84107) on June 27, 2022 at 12:00 pm. Following funeral services, a burial service for family and friends will take place at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery (3401 S. Highland Dr. Millcreek, UT 84106). Prior to funeral services a viewing will be held from 10:30 – 11:45 am.
