believed to be son of Aquilla Burns (mother's name unknown). There were several Aquilla / Equilla Burns, one was Aquilla Burns who married Elizabeth Griffin in 1818 TN, that is a different one. John's father Aquilla was believed to been born abt 1738, he would have been age 80 if this was his marriage record, so believe John W. Burns father Aquilla was not married to this Elizabeth Griffin.
On the John Burns grave memorial, Elizabeth Griffin is listed as his mother. I cannot read it on there but info was given by Contributor: (48320390) that it is there.
So I do not know what that means, unless there were two different sets of Aquilla/Equilla Burns & Elizabeth Griffin marriages
