David James Garlow, 72, of Cedar Falls, formerly of West Union, died June 3, 2022, surrounded by his family at UnityPoint Allen Hospital in Waterloo after a sudden illness.

David was born April 17, 1950, to Dale and Naomi (Hansel) Garlow in Colesburg, Iowa. He attended high school in Colesburg also.

David honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969-1971 when an injury in Vietnam ended his military career.

David was united in marriage to Jacqueline Junge on April 1, 1972. Two children were born to this union.

David enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his chihuahuas. He enjoyed the birds and squirrels in his back yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Donald, Larry and Robert Garlow and Eugene Hansel and his grandson, Steven Garlow.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 24, 2022, from 4-7 P.M. at Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home in West Union. A graveside service with military rites will be held June 25, 2022 at 11:00 at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Eldorado. Memorials may be directed to the family.
