Halvor (or 'Hallvard') was born in a wee town in southern Norway called Valle, son of Thor Aslaksson Bø. He apparently left Valle after marrying a local Valle girl (Thorbjørg) either 1874 or 1875. He settled near Grand Forks, ND and had 5 kids, living there till 1935. He was the father of Alec Thorson (1886 - 1931), the father of Oral Hilbert Thorson (1918 - 1960), the father of my father, Russell Lloyd Thorson (1943 - 2022). I moved to Germany to further my piano studies and learnt Norwegian, and traced the family, thanks to Oral's still living sister Thelnore Thorson Nichols (died 1996). I have visited Norway numerous times and met relatives. Beautiful.
