Mrs. Linda Houston Presson, wife of Thomas Warren Presson, age 84, of 2220 East Eighth Street, passed away September 29, 1972 at her home.
She was born February, 1, 1888 in Mooresville, N.c., daughter of the late James Pinkney and Nellie Crawford Houston. Mrs. Presson was married to Thomas Warren Presson for 66 years. She was a charter member and member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday, October 1, at the Harry and Bryant Chapel in the Oaks, conducted by Reverend Douglas Oldenburg, Minister of Covenant Presbyterian church, with interment in the Elmwood Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Warren Presson of Charlotte; one son, Samuel L. Presson of Miami, Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Nell Massey and Mrs. Robert Northrop, both of Charlotte; one brother, Vance Houston of Sun City, Arizona three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at harry and Bryant Chapel Saturday evening between the hours of 7-9 p.m. Active pallbearer: Walker Shoemaker, Jr., John James, Jr., Warren Connell, Nat Savage, E. L. Hunter and Gregory Smith.
