Obituary
Candy Brown Christian, 74, of Lake Charles passed away on Tuesday June 14, 2022 in the comfort of her son's home in Moss Bluff, surrounded by her loving family.

Candy was a native of Fannin, Texas, where she was the seventh of eight children born to Lee Calvin and Edith Perdue Brown. Her parents were sharecroppers who raised and harvested mainly cotton while moving from town to town. With little formal education, Candy and her late husband, Don owned and operated furniture stores in the Lake Charles Area for a number of years. She had a generous heart, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, without question. Her greatest joys were her family and travel. She especially enjoyed cruises and traveling to coastal destinations.

In addition to her parents, Candy was preceded in death by her five sisters and two brothers, Jean, Mary Jo, Wilma, David, Martha, Bobbie and Jimmy.

She leaves to honor and cherish her memories, her son, John Christian of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, true sister of her heart, Bonnie Brown of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren, Daniel Christian, Brandi Christian Porche and Sam Chapman; three great grandchildren, Xander, Elijah and Alice; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family of her heart.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Saturday June 18, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles and will continue on Sunday June 19 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A celebration of Candy's life will begin at 2:00 PM on Sunday in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. Marcus Wade will officiate. Entombment will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
