Harold Hancock Sr., 80, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, January 18, 2008. He was predeceased by parents, Alonza and Edna Hancock; sisters, Mildred V. Petty, Hazel Finney, and Ruth Saunders; and a brother and dear sister-in-law, James and Donna Otey Hancock. Left to mourn are his devoted wife of 50 years, Barbara Davis Hancock; four loving children, Renee (Arthur) Brooks, Harold Hancock Jr., Lynn (Kenneth) Hurt, and Anissa (Harold) Banks; his "adopted children", Kathy Bell, Gloria Lindsay, Bernard Johnson Jr., John Wade, Jr. and family; nine grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; special caregiver, Lucille Clayborne; his beloved nieces and nephews, including his "namesake," Harold Finney; faithful neighbors; as well as other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Pilgrim Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Friends may call at Serenity from 12 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, for viewing. Arrangements by Serenity Funeral Home.
