PEORIA -- Mary J. McGuire, 81, formerly of Peoria, died at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 1997, at Sunset Manor in Canton.

Born March 17, 1916, in Dyersburg, Tenn., to Hugh T. and Onby Osborne Rundles, she married Carmack McGuire on Jan. 16, 1938, in Dyersburg. He died Oct. 2, 1972, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Elvis Patterson and Melvin Jan McGuire, one sister and three brothers.

Surviving are one son, Roy G. of Peoria; three daughters, Ramona F. Langston of Jackson, Mich., and Mrs. James (Linda) Perrone and Mrs. John (Gloria) Stasz, both of Peoria; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Finis (Dorothy) Fisher of Dyersburg, Frances Nail of Union City and Mrs. Ike (Burnell) Morris of Greenfield, Tenn.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Canton.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Wilton Mortuary, where visitation will be one hour before services. The Rev. Bill Dustin will officiate. Burial will be in LaSalle Cemetery in Chillicothe.
