A Celebration of A.J. Brister, Jr.'s Life, age 52, of Burkeville, Texas, will be 10am, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Burkeville Baptist Church in Burkeville, Texas.

Burial following at Sycamore Cemetery in Burkeville.

Visitation will be from 5~9pm, Friday, June 10, 2022 at the church.

A.J. passed on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at his home in Burkeville, Texas.

A native of Alexandria, Louisiana and former resident of Leesville, Louisiana, A.J. had been a resident of Burkeville, Texas since 1975.

He was employed as a shearer operator/logger.

A member of the Burkeville Baptist Church, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and sitting around the fire with his friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

A.J. is survived by his two stepsons, J.T. Alford and Robert Alford, both of Burkeville, his brothers, David Brister and wife Pam, John Brister and Jack T. Cummings, II, all of Leesville, Louisiana, his sisters, Carolyn Cummings and husband Travis (261483668) and Darla Caples and husband Jeff, all of Burkeville, Texas along with nine nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A.J. Brister, Sr. and Jessie Carol Brister.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper, Texas ~
