Ronald McDuffie Ragland, 87, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022. He was born May 5, 1935 in Granville County to the late Hugh Thomas Ragland and Mary McDuffie Ragland.

Ronald honorably served his country in the US Army, he attended Ringling College of Art and Design and King's College. He retired as a commercial artist with Percivall Advertising & Marketing. Following retirement, he created a limited edition series of old country artwork.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, June 13, 2022 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

A private family burial will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park with Military Honors.

He is survived by children: Ronald McDuffie Ragland, Jr. (Crystal), Mary Allison R. White (Andy), Sterling Keith Ragland (Regina); grandchildren: Whitney Ragland, Ronald "Trey" Ragland, III (Marina), Travis White (fiancé, Renee), Alexander Ragland (Carlee), Brianna Van Reenen (Dylan); great-grandchildren: Tallulah and one on the way.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Betty Ann Williams Ragland; daughter, Delta Louise Ragland and brother, Tom Ragland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels of Wake County.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the home health nurses and caregivers who showed their love.
