Thursday evening, February 29th, at 10:00 o’clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. Rule, 1416 Marshall street, occurred the death of Mrs. J. M. Ousley, another of the well known and esteemed pioneer residents of Boone. For the past six years she has made her home with her daughter and had been in poor health most of that time with a complication of diseases, and for the past three months has been bedfast. She was nearly sixty eight years of age at the time of her death. The funeral services were held from the home at 3:00 o’clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Geo. D. Crissman of the First Methodist church.
Margaret Katherine Herd (sic) was born in Platt county, Missouri, September 19, 1852. July 19, 1869, she was united in marriage with James M. Ousley at Mound City, Missouri. They resided in Edgar County, Illinois, until 1879, when they came to Boone and she has made her home her since. To Mr. and Mrs. Ousley were born one son, Edgar B., who passed away about four years ago, and three daughters, Mrs. L. Rule and Mrs. John Selihorn of Boone and Mrs. A.F. Reid of Newton, Kansas. Her husband preceded her in death about six years ago.
