Funeral service for James Robert Lolies, 69, of Piedmont will be Wednesday, June 08, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Smith and Mr. Gary Pace officiating. Burial will follow at Goshen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until time of service. Mr. Lolies passed away Saturday, June 04, 2022. Survivors include one son, Jayson Lolies of Piedmont; one daughter, Sandi Hockenberry (Scott) of Augusta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Madison Hockenberry, Savannah Hockenberry, and Danny Hockenberry; twin sister, Mary Reaves; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Randall Bangs, Danny Hockenberry, Tanner Pace, Benjamin Pace, Lee Young, Jeremy Stepps, Gary Pace, and Norman Pace. Honorary Pallbearers will be past and present employees of the City of Piedmont Water Filtration Plant. Mr. Lolies was a native of Florida and had been a resident of Piedmont for most of his life. He retired from the City of Piedmont Water Filtration Plant with many years of service and attended Centre Congregational Holiness Church. He sang with the group Foothills of Piedmont and later sang by himself. He was always prepared to sing at church when asked. Mr. Lolies enjoyed watching Piedmont football and had served as an umpire with the Piedmont Parks and Recreation. He adored his grandchildren and was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Mr. Lolies was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Ann Lolies; grandchildren, Abigail and Faith Hockenberry; parents, Jesse and Annie Lolies; and grandparents, Sarah and Charlie Lolies.
