Helen Harding Hughes was born April 28, 1922 near Groveton, Texas and passed away November 11, 2017 at the age of 95. She worked her whole life serving others as a waitress for various restaurants. She had a great love for family and friends and worked hard her entire life. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Leslie Harding and Lolita Eloise Watson Harding; 2 husbands, R.P. McMillan and Jimmy Pat Hughes; daughter, Sharron McMillan; brother, Larry Charles Harding; sisters, Bobbie Elmore, Vivian Safford, Ruth Harding, Hazel Magason, Johnnie Redden and Myrtle Moon. She is survived by her loving daughter, Barbara Hecke of Montgomery, Texas; grandson, Kenneth Eugene Hecke and wife Charlotte of Conroe, Texas; and great grandson Blake Eugene Hecke. Visitation will be at Cashner Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 5-7pm. The Celebration of Life service will be in the Cashner Colonial Chapel on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 10am with Pastor Merle Blado officiating.
