Singer. He was best known as one-half of the popular 1970s soft rock duo Seals and Crofts, who were best known for their hits "Summer Breeze" (1972), "Diamond Girl" (1973), and "Get Closer" (1976). In the late 1950s, he teamed up with Dash Crofts and they later moved to California, where they wrote songs for other artists before they started recording hits of their own beginning with "Summer Breeze", which hit number six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1972. They went on to record other hits such as "Hummingbird," "Diamond Girl," "We May Never Pass This Way Again," and "Get Closer." In 1980, the duo disbanded, but they reunited briefly from 1991 to 1992 and again in 2004, when they recorded their final album "Traces."
