He was born in Steubenville on February 17, 1949, a son of Lawrence and Anne (Smith) Savinell.
Bruce was a member of the 1968 graduating class of Steubenville Big Red High School.
Following his high school graduation, Bruce proudly served in the United States Air Force, from 1969 to 1972.
With over thirty-seven years of service, he retired from Norfolk Southern Railway where he worked as a Trackman.
Bruce's family describes him as a great father, kind-hearted, loving individual, and a jokester, one who enjoyed gossip of any kind. He would offer his help to anyone who asked. Bruce had many likes, some of those being his love of old cars, his cologne, and shoe collections, but it was well known he enjoyed a delicious meal.
