Evelyn O. Schwartz of Lew Beach, who, with her late husband, was one of the original owners of the Roscoe Diner, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, in Pembroke Pines, Fla. She was 86 years of age.
The daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth Harvey O'Keefe, she was born August 18, 1917, in Parksville. She was the widow of Sam "Pay" Schwartz.
She is survived by a sister, Irene Barnhart of Lew Beach; a daughter, Judith Hedgelon of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; two sons, Michael Schwartz of Middletown and Kevin Schwartz of Navarre, Fla.; five grandchildren, David Defelici of Miami, Fla., René Carlson of Livingston Manor, Jeremy and Samantha Schwartz of Middletown and Dina Schwartz of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, F. Allen O'Keefe, and a sister, Jeanne O. Sturdevant.
A private memorial service was held for the family.
