Mrs. Mary Gertrude Ripberger,
59, died at 2:47 a.m. today at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Phil
Myers, 617 North Independence
street, after a six months illness.
The body will lie in state at Young's
Funeral. Home after noon Wednesday.
A rosary service will be held at
the funeral home at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be conducted
at 10 a.m. Friday in St. John's Catholic Church, with
Rev. Jerome Walski officiating, Burial
will be in St. John's cemetery.
Mary Gertrude Lawhorn was born in Tipton on Nov. 4, 1902, to
Joseph and Mary (Easterwood) Lawhorn. Before her marriage she lived with foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hickner.
She was married in Tipton county on Jan. 12, 1922, to Clarence Ripberger, who died Oct. 3. 1955.
The deceased was a member of St. John's church and the Rosary
Society, and had attended St. John's school and St. Joseph Academy.
Seven children survive: Mrs. Phil (Donnie) Myers, Tipton; Mrs. Bob (Rosemary) Comer, Tipton: Raymond and Jim Ripberger, Tipton; Pat Ripberger, Indianapolis; Richard, Lebanon, Ohio; and Mrs. William (Betty) Hawkins, Bedford, Ind.
There are 19 grandchildren.
