Melba Grace Distel, 89, of Longmont died Aug. 31. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at St. John's Catholic Church, with burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. Distel was born in Portis, Kan., on July 30, 1907. She married Frank C. Distel, 1935.
She was a teacher in Nebraska and Colorado. She also worked as a cook for the Arvada and St. Vrain Valley school districts.
Survivors include sons Robert, Thomas and William, all of Longmont, Harold and Joseph, both of Georgia, Richard of Loveland, James of Woodland Park; sister Carol Fitzhugh of Aurora; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
