Betty was an admired and respected individual. Her love for her family and community was evident in everything that she did. She worked at First National Bank in Pawhuska for many years, where she met and later married her second husband, Donald Stuart. She is remembered for her charitable work and generous heart. She was a devoted volunteer for the Methodist Church, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church soup kitchen where she prepared meals daily, Christ Cupboard, Meals on Wheels, Pawhuska Nursing Home, and several other organizations. Betty's heart for people, and generous spirit will forever be remembered.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Lou Cummings (Dennis); son-in-law, James Gross; granddaughters, Lacey Sponsler and Kaylor Gross (Colton) Dunlap; grandsons, Conor (Claire) Cummings and James Austin Stretch (Bradi) Gross; great granddaughter, Anna and Phoenix Sponsler; great grandsons, Traxton and Riggs Dunlap, Bradford Cummings, and James Knox Gross, as well as numerous extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Donald Sponsler Sr. and Donald Stuart; daughter, Karen Kay Gross; son, George Donald Sponsler Jr.; brothers Howard Jr. Neptune and Tom Neptune.
Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Pawhuska, Oklahoma on Thursday, June 9, at 10:00AM. Rev. Brett Thomasson will officiate.
