ELKHART- Emmit I. Cobb, 84, of Elkhart, passed away Monday December 31, 2018 at Goshen General Hospital. He was born April 21, 1934 in Heleville, Alabama to Joe & Ethel (Dodd) Cobb.

He married Nancy Carper and she preceded him in death in 1979. He married Betty Schrist who preceded him in death in 2011. Surviving are 2 sons, James (Carla) Cobb of Leighton, Utah, Robert J. (Elizabeth) Cobb of Elkhart; 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Vaudel (Thomas) Gibson of Merryville, IL; 2 brothers, Autrail (Carmen) Cobb of Columbus, GA, James (Kim) Cobb of Granite City, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings.

Emmit served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharges in 1961. He was a member of the DAV in Syracuse, IN, attended the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Goshen and was an avid John Wayne fan.

Cremation will take place and a celebration of life service for Emmit will be held at a later date in St. Louis, MO. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with his care.
