Blane Eugene Reid, 89, of Lexington, Virginia, died Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Shenandoah Health & Rehab.

Born January 8, 1933 in Collierstown, he was a son of the late George Coleman Reid and Evelyn Florence Ballard Reid.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Ruley Reid; brothers, Charles Coleman Reid and Allan L. Reid; and sister, Evelyn Marie Graff.

He was a member of the New Monmouth Presbyterian Church, and the Odd Fellows.

Blane retired from city of Lexington where he worked in the Public Works Department.

He also loved bluegrass music, and was a member of bluegrass band "The Country Friends."

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, at New Monmouth Presbyterian Cemetery by the Rev. Casey Clark.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to New Monmouth Presbyterian Cemetery, 2348 W. Midland Trail, Lexington, VA 24450.
