William was involved in a logging accident which took his life at a young age. Some family stories state 1882 as the year but he would have only been 14 and I am not sure they were in Breathitt County, Kentucky at that time. My mother, (his great niece) indicated he was in his late teens when the accident occured. Either way she knew he was buried on a hill top along old Highway 15 in Breathitt County because her grandmother (his youngest sister) always pointed it out when they drove by.
