Margie was the daughter of Cortland Sedric Alsop and Juna Myrtle Virginia (Alsop) Grabert. Cort and Juna got married May 22, 1922 in White Co., IL. They had 6 children, Ruth Imogene, Beulah M., Ivan Vincent, Glenn Eugene, Margie Nadine and Donald Elwood Alsop.
Margie married Leroy C. Grabert September 12, 1964 in Posey Co., IN. They did not have any children.

Margie Nadine (Alsop) Grabert, age 67, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born July 1, 1940, in Posey County, IN., daughter of the late Cortland and Juna (Mounts) Alsop. She was the Black Township Assessor for 24 years. She was an active member of the Posey County Democtat Women's Club, American Legion Post 5 Auxiliary and Trinity United Church of Christ. Margie enjoyed flower making and cooking for others. She was a caring, kind and generous person. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Glenn Alsop, and two sisters, Imogene Hallan and Beulah Wilkerson. She is survived by her husband of 43 years of marriage, Leroy Grabert of Mount Vernon; and her two brothers, and their wives, Ivan and Rosemary Alsop, and Donald and Virginia Alsop, all of New Harmony, IN. Margie is also survived by her 13 nephews and 13 nieces. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 4, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 505 Mulberry Street, Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Kenneth Scherry officiating. Burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 3, at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main Street, Mount Vernon, where an American Legion Auxiliary service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ.
