Oliver "June Bug" Cuevas, Jr., 90, of Standard, MS., passed away Saturday, May 28, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. Oliver, the oldest of four children, was born February 12, 1932, to Oliver A. and Mandie (Perkins) Cuevas in Standard, MS. From a young age, Oliver had many hobbies he loved, hunting and fishing to name a few, but playing his guitar was his favorite of all. He was loved by so many and will be missed immensely by all who loved and knew him throughout his ninety years. Oliver is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver A. and Mandie (Perkins) Cuevas; one son Kimberly C. Cuevas; one grandson and one great grandson. Left to cherish his memory are his son (LIVING) ((LIVING) Hooper) Cuevas of Kiln, MS; sisters (LIVING) Malley of Fenton, MS., (LIVING) Ladner, (LIVING) Ladner, and (LIVING) ((LIVING)) Ladner all of Necaise Crossing; and one special cousin (LIVING). Oliver leaves a legacy of four granddaughters, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services for Mr. Cuevas will be held Wednesday, June 1 at Wolfe Creek Baptist Church, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am for extended family and friends, funeral service to follow at noon and internment directly after at Standard Sand Hill Cemetery. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Cuevas family during this difficult time and would ask that you remember them in your prayers in the days to come.
