Donald R. Belew, 74, of Fort Collins passed away on Jan. 7, 2013 in Rocky Mountain National Park while snowshoeing with friends. Don was born on October 24, 1939 in Gould, CO to Alba and Ona Belew.

He married Roberta Amon on Aug. 12, 1960 in Fort Collins.

Donald received a degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University in 1961, where he was in ROTC, and began his career in the U S Army right after graduation. Don retired from the Army as a Lt. Colonel and returned to Ft. Collins in 1994. Don loved the outdoors of Colorado and was an avid snowshoer, hiker, skier, biker and fisherman. He loved computers and investing. Don was an avid Broncos fan.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta, sons Randy (Caryn) Belew of Alexandria, VA, Steve (Mavis) Belew of Henderson, NV and their son Christopher, sisters Juanita Johnson of LaPorte and Earlene Bradley of Ft. Collins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 11, 2014 at Timberline Church, South Auditorium at 10 AM with a reception to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Timberline Church in care of Vessey Funeral Service.--Vessey Funeral Service
