Vivian Ruth Copeland Williams, age 93, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at the St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born December 27, 1926, in Rock Camp, Monroe County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Herman D. and Ruth McNeer Copeland. Vivian spent her time loving and caring for family and friends. She inspired those whose lives she touched with her lifelong passion of sewing and quilting. Her many quilts will be treasured for generations. She will be remembered as a strong and dignified southern lady.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Williams; brother, J. Richard Copeland; and her son, R. James Williams, Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley A. Collins and husband Nick, and Janet L. Yarger and husband Robert; grandchildren, Dawn, Dayle, Leigh, Evan, Craig, Emily, and Kyle; great grandchildren, Jaimi, Adara, Elizibeth, Eden, Aislin, Cobain, Claira, and Navy; great great grandchildren, Aubree, Jameson, and Isabella; and two sisters, June A. Gross and Wanda E. Britts.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at the Ellison Cemetery on Willow Bend Road in Rock Camp, WV, with Barry Harper officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00PM on Saturday at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV.
Due to the regulations associated with COVID-19 and the WV Governor's Mandate, those attending the visitation and graveside services are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
