She married Robert L. Turner, and they later divorced in 1979. She returned to college at Ball State and graduated in 1995 with her MA in Gerontology. She lived in Lebanon, IN and began her professional career in social work in 1979 for the Central Indiana Council on Aging. She loved working with and helping her clients. Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life and her support system. she also loved all types of animals, and she took great interest in their welfare. She loved oil painting, traveling, dancing and theatre life. She truly enjoyed all of her family, good friends and their friendships.
Sondra was preceded in death by her son Timothy Turner. Sondra leaves behind her daughter, Lisa Melton and sons, Gregory and Matthew Turner; her four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, IN.
