Angela S. Balasco, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
Born on November 1, 1931 in Queens, NY to the late Guiseppe and Lucia Verrigni, she was the eldest of 7 children.
Angela resided in Schenectady, NY for many years and was married to the late Frank Balasco.
Angela was a devoted mother to her children and so began a career later in life. She worked for the Schenectady County Board of Elections as a principal clerk retiring in 1988.
Angela was a kind, selfless and generous woman. She was a wonderful cook too. Her delicious tomatoe sauce and chocolate cake were family favorites!
Angela enjoyed the crashing waves at the beach and she loved to shop. She often combined these "loves" on family vacations in Cape Cod and in Maine. Angela also loved interior design and was quite a movie buff.
She is survived by her adoring children, David (Roseann) Caruso, Maryanne (Philip) Gunther, Connie Scott, Sandra (Christopher) Willette and Joanne (Michael) Masucci. She was blessed with six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Also surviving are Angela's siblings: Judith Pardi, Vera Masi, Julia (Paul) Hochmuth, Sylvester R. (Mareda) Verrigni, Lucy Verrigni and her sister-in-law, Marlene Verrigni.
She was predeceased by her brother, Rocco T. Verrigni.
Angela's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at the Kingsway Community for their kind and compassionate care of our mother throughout her stay.
