Joseph Dayrel Tannahill 90, went to be with Jesus on May 1, 2022 in Pensacola, Florida, where he had been living since Dec. 2021. He was born to Bert Tannahill and Reba Booth Tannahill Matlock in Hamilton in 1932 and was raised on the Ol' Tannahill place north of Eureka. As a child, he helped work the farm with his parents and was closely raised with Leonard Booth who was more of a brother than an uncle. Dayrel served 4 years in the Navy as a Boatswains Mate on two ships, participating in Korean service, China service, National Defense and United Nations service. He married Gladis (Scheck) Tannahill and was married almost 30 years. To them was born 4 children, Gregory, Mike, Wendy and Joe. He worked and retired from the City of San Marino, Calif. as a tree trimmer for the parks department and also had a side business as a tree trimmer. His favorite activities were bowling and motorcycle riding while in Calif. He tended to move around a bit and in 2009, he returned to Eureka and resided there until Dec. 2021. While in Eureka, he delivered Meals On Wheels for many years and was a Master Mason.

Dayrel was preceded in death by his parents, a baby brother Egbert, sons baby Gregory and Mike as well as many Aunts and Uncles. He is survived by [living survivors information removed per FindAGrave guidelines] daughter, Wendy (Tannahill) Sanderlin; son, Joe Tannahill; grandchildren: Ashley, Zach, Ariel, Joe, and Levi; great grandchildren, Jack, Tyler, and Zion; and Leonard and Aunt Jean Booth.
