CRAWLEY - Jessie Mae, 93 went home to be with our lord on May 20, 2022. The daughter of Burrell Monroe and Fannie Lee (Flagg) Haselrig, she was born on June 15, 1928, in Johnstown. She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, James D Crawley, Sr. Sisters: Pearl Haselrig and Doris Catherine Rideout, and brothers: Burrell Lee Jr., Alger, Joseph, William, Earl Robert, Donald, and Grand Daughter, Naima Amanda (Scott) Brunson, and her second husband, Charles Grigsby.
She is survived by her children: Maxine W. (Crawley) Trent, Patricia Crawley, Dan (Robyn) Crawley, Grandchildren, Jacob (Jill) Scott, Ashton, and Bennett Crawley. Great Grand children Azure Henley, Alexander and Julius Scott, Victoria, and Marques Brunson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Jessie was a lifelong member of the First Cambria AME Zion Church, where she served in many capacities in many organizations. She retired after 30 years of service at the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. Upon retirement, she worked as the Concierge at the Stouffer's Grand Beach Resort in St Thomas US Virgin Islands. She was a board member of the Johnstown NAACP. A Brownie leader for the Talus Rock Girl Scout Council and a member of the Eastern Star.
Friends will be received from 3-7 PM Thursday at the Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. where service will be held at noon on Friday, Revs. Arnett and Hawkins officiating. Interment Grandview Cemetery. (ptbmortuary.com)
