Mr. Edgecomb has been in failing health all summer and seriously ill the past few weeks. He was born in Loraine Co., Ohio, coming to this state in early manhood.

On Jan. 1, 1874, Mr. Edgecomb married Miss Nancy Adeline Shipman at LaCrosse. They came to Carthage to establish their home, where Mr. Edgecomb had a position as engineer in the Hobart flour mill at this place.

To this union were born five children: Fred and James of this city, Mrs. Charles Hittner of near Carthage, Mrs. Bessie Arnold of this city and Floyd of Burlington, all of whom with the wife survive.
