MARTINSVILLE - Mr. William Taft Wade, age 79, of 812 Sheffield Street, Martinsville, husband of the late Mrs. Ethel Martin Wade, died Monday, August 12, 1991, at Eldercare Nursing Center, Rocky Mount, Va.

He was born in Franklin County, Va., April 14, 1912, a son of the late Johnny Wade and Mrs. Betty Ann Wade.

He was a resident of Martinsville for thirty-five years and was retired from Stanley Furniture Company. He was a former member of Morningside Baptist Church and Odd Fellows Lodge in Rocky Mount, Va.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lucy W. Young of Rocky Mount, Va.; Mrs. Sadie W. Tuning of Rocky Mount, Va.; one son, William C. Wade of Columbus, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Ms. Lauradeen Martin of Somers Point, N.J.; Ms. Cheryl LaVette Martin of Jersey City, N.J.; Mrs. Hlen Hampton of Rocky Mount, Va.; three stepsons, Keith Martin of Atlantic City, N.J.; Lawson Fralin of Rocky Mount, Va.; James C. Fralin, Rocky Mount, Va.; two sisters, Miss Mattie Wade of Rocky Mount, Va.; Mrs. Essie Noel of Rocky Mount, Va.; two brothers, Roy Wade of Rocky Mount, Va.; John Andrew Wade of Rocky Mount, Va.; twenty-two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, August 15, 1991, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. and will be at the residence at other times.

Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at Hairston Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Gardens, Martinsville, Va.
