Ruby Kathern Richerson Miller Hyslope was born in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma, on Feb. 3, 1922 to John Henry and Addie (Eckert) Richerson and died at her home on May 20, 2022. Ruby once told her son, Kenneth, she would live to be 100. She attained the age of 100 years, 3 months, and 17 days.
Ruby attended school at Mt. Grove and Webbers Falls, graduated 8th grade and went to work in the fields with her mother and siblings, a hard worker for all of her life. Her father died in 1927 working in the Seminole oil fields. After his death, she came back to Mt. Grove with her mother and siblings. They worked in the fields, did washing and whatever they could to survive. At the age of 15, Ruby married Harold Gloyd Miller, on July 3, 1937. Together they raised 4 children: Kathryn, Gloyd, George & Kenneth. She was picking cotton the day Gloyd was born.
She helped raise her grandchildren and great children, was active in church and always tried to help anyone in need. She set an example of love and devotion to God and Family.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold Miller; her sisters, Ellen, Mary & Johnie Ann; her brothers, Adam, James Henry, Eugene and Monroe; and her daughter, Kathryn Kaiser.
She is survived by her three younger children: Dr. Gloyd Miller & wife Dessa, George Miller & wife Linda, and Kenneth Miller; four step-children: Deloris Combs, Shirley Scott, Edward Hyslope & wife Donna, Norman Hyslope & wife Evelyn; seven grandchildren: Melinda Obal, Terry Estes, Sherry Coody, Erec and Kevin Miller, Mark Miller, and Michella Peters; 20 great-grandchildren: Sarah, Lee, Leah, Lance, Aaron, Elizabeth, Daniel Micah, Hannah, Gabriel, Emily, Victoria, Katie, Arthur, Timothy, Rebekah, Aaron Edward, & Annalyn; and 14 great-great-grandchildren: Cassandra, Kyrie, Jackson, Alan, Vivian, Kayden, Oliver, McKinley, Riley, Seth, Keith, Cohen, Saylin and Ari.
Special thanks go out to Lou Miller, Sarah Berry, Terysa Casey, Cindy Allen & Emily Grant, for the care they gave in Ruby's last years.
Ruby lived her life with grace and unconditional love to all, not letting any circumstance hinder her, steadfast in fighting the good fight, keeping the faith and she has received her crown of righteousness.
