Uncle Dick as he was known to us was the oldest child of Grandma and Grandpa Dobie. He was born in Arkansas and when he was about a year old the family moved to New Mexico to live on the land that Grandpa had homesteaded on. This journey was made in a covered wagon around 1921. Uncle Dick was a professor at Baylor university in Waco for 30 years. He taught micro biology.
