Mrs. New was a native of Toombs County, a member of the Uvalda Church of God, and had lived in Uvalda for the past 32 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lula Mae Bradley of Savannah, Mrs. Floella Conine and Mrs. Ellen Brown, both of Uvalda; four sons, J.D. New and C.H. New, both of Savannah, Solomon New of Hazlehurst, E.H. New, Jr. of Uvalda; one brother, Dan Partin of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Hayslip and Mrs. Emma Lou Martin, both of Lyons.
