Clayton Baumann, KALISPELL - Clayton Carter Baumann, 73, a retired printer, died Thursday morning in the Kalispell Regional Hospital. Mr. Baumann was born Nov. 1, 1906, in Portal, N. D the son of Leonard and Bessie Carter Baumann. As a child he moved with the family to Sweetgrass, where he attended elementary school. He learned the printing trade at Sweetgrass and Shelby, becoming a journeyman printer in 1925. He worked as a printer throughout Montana, Washington and Illinois. He served in the armed forces from 1927 to 1935 and again in 1941. On April 26, 1935, he married Zada Storing in the church at West Point, N.Y. They moved Kalispell following his retirement in 1971. He is survived by his wife at the family home in Kalispell; a brother. Walter, Wenatchee, Wash.; an uncle, Walter Baumann, Hayfield, Minn.; and numerous other relatives. The body has been cremated at the Weatherford Crematory and memorial services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Good Chapel of the Epworth Methodist Church in Kalispell.
