Robert Irvin Chapmon, 81, of Reidsville passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Rockingham County Hospice Home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Housewright officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

Irvin was born in Rockingham County to the late Robert Lee and Ellen Wells Chapmon. He was a longtime member of Cornerstone Community Church, formerly Evangelical Methodist Church for many years, where he served in many capacities. Irvin retired from the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office, but always had two jobs which included working with DOT, driving cars for the Nissan dealership, and delivering furniture. In his spare time, he loved working on cars, camping and traveling. He was a member of the Holiday Rambler Camping Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Chapmon and sister, Nancy Kincaid.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy Evans Chapmon; daughter, Teresa Brookshire and husband, Perry; granddaughter, Olivia Brookshire; sister-in-law, Pam Williams; nieces and nephews.
