There is an article on page 315 of the book, "Heritage of Pickens County Alabama", written by Deborah Shaw Akin, about the Shaw Family. To quote part of the article, "Permelia Ann Agnew was the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Agnew. She and her husband, John Lawley Shaw, raised a large family in Millport, AL near the Pickens & Lamar County line. Their children were John Henry, Sarah Georgia, William R., Andrews J., Mary E., Malisa, Walker A., James M., Lillie (Frances), Thomas Lucian, and Louis C. Most of this family is buried at Andrew's Chapel Cemetery. John Henry Shaw, their eldest child, was born on October 12, 1862, and married LuTisha Eliza Jane Vail on October 28 or 29, 1885 in Lamar Co., AL. Tisha was the daughter of Jesse Malcolm Vail and Nancy A Robertson. Nancy was the daughter of Daniel H Robertson and Mary Shoemaker Robertson of the Springhill Community near Millport., AL. In 1894, John Henry decided to seek his fortune in Arkansas. He first moved to Bradley Co., AR and then to Howard Co., AR where he died on June 18, 1945. Tisha also died in Howard Co., AR on July 9, 1954.
