Leila Hatch Oldroyd, 97, our kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on May 19, 2022, at her home in Glenwood, Utah. She was born on November 4, 1924, in Koosharem, Utah to Andrew Vernaldo and Elnora Kistena Olsen Hatch. She graduated from Richfield High School in 1942.

Leila was married to the love of her life, Gethin M. Oldroyd, for 64 years before he passed away in 2007. They were married on November 26, 1943, in the Manti LDS Temple. Together they raised their 4 children in Glenwood.

Leila was always an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions, including Relief Society president and counselor, Young Women's counselor, and Primary teacher. She was a faithful visiting teacher for 60 years. Her life was centered on Jesus Christ, and she spent her time in serving others. She honored her heritage by serving as a Daughter of Utah Pioneers for 62 years. She served as captain and secretary during her service.

Leila was an avid reader. She especially loved Amish books and mysteries. She also enjoyed genealogy work, doing puzzles, plastic canvas work, stitch work, playing games with family, and quilting. She had a beautiful singing voice and sang in the choir. She loved to sing while she worked. Throughout her life she was employed at Parson's Bakery, Bradshaw Auto Parts, Roger Oldroyd Orthodontist, and was a Glenwood Postmaster.

Spending time with her family was her greatest joy!

We as a family would like to thank Gail Peterson for taking care of Leila for the past 4 years, Gail was amazing with her. We would also like to thank At Home Health Care and Hospice.
